Widgets give way to weenies as the "Western High School Radio Forum" discusses the meaning of capitalism in terms designed to make sense to teenagers. Capitalism is one of many "free-enterprise education" films released in the first few years of the Cold War. Unlike many films produced under corporate sponsorship, it avoids taking jabs at socialism, Russia or New Deal government programs. Nonetheless, it uses the common Coronet device of showing a group collectively engaged...

Capitalism looks different to those who were once commodities, and that has implications for how we build a future not based in domination. In this conversation, Laura talks with Farah Tanis, executive director of Black Women's Blueprint and Marxist economist, Professor Richard Wolff, about late capitalism, early democracy, the crisis that gave rise to Donald Trump’s election and what might come next, if we take seriously the task of erasing race, gender and other disparities. Solidarity...

Manifesto of the Amsterdam Squatting Action Days 11-13 April 2008 english version: AMSTERDAM APRIL 2008 In whatever shape the struggle for autonomous spaces manifests itself, these spaces are a refuge for rebels and outlaws, poor and homeless people, radical activists, illegalized people and anyone who refuses to play along in the capitalist game. Social centres are crucial to us as part of a movement for social change. Autonomous squatted spaces give social movements, which don't rely on...

Shows socially-maladjusted boys 10 to 11 years old being benefitted therapeutically by "acting out" their disturbances upon their environment and each other in a realistic situation with an emotionally neutral therapist and concealed cameras and microphones. A fascinating mental health film produced for professional audiences, depicting truly anarchic behavior.

The Yellow Wallpaper is a short story by American writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It follows the story of a woman confined to her room by her doctor husband after the birth of her son. During her constant isolation, the narrator begins to go mad. After a while, she believes that there is a woman living behind the hideous wallpaper in her room. The story was one of the first feminist takes on the concept of mental health. Suggested Level: US (Upper Secondary)
